Whether you're dropping in for a hearty lunch or ordering catering for a special occasion, the dedication to real, no-nonsense Southern cooking shines through every dish.
The menu is a celebration of classic soul food staples, each prepared with care and a touch of nostalgia. Try the Spicy Whole Catfish, perfectly seasoned and fried to a golden crisp, served alongside tender collard greens and sweet potatoes that are both hearty and heartwarming. Fans of fried classics will be equally captivated by the Smothered Pork Chops — crunchy on the outside, juicy inside — or the famous Large Fried Chicken Platter that Miss Kay calls “the bomb.com.” Each bite bursts with flavors that echo the essence of Southern kitchens, where love is the secret ingredient.
Vegetable sides at Drew’s Place are anything but an afterthought. From creamy macaroni and cheese to soul-satisfying black-eyed peas and tangy collard greens, the sides complement and elevate every main course. Patti Sparks’s observation on the exceptional service mirrors the experience: warm, attentive, and as comforting as the food itself.
Desserts here are a sweet finale you won’t want to miss. The peach cobbler garners raves, especially from DeAnna Varner, who calls it “DIVINE!” Other treats like banana pudding, pecan pie, and homemade Italian cream cake round out the menu with decadent, lovingly made options that feel like a hug in every bite.
Drawing from the heartfelt endorsements of loyal customers, it’s clear Drew’s Place Soulfood isn’t just about great food — it’s about bringing a sense of family and community to every table. Whether you’re craving a plate of smothered chicken fried steak or a vegetable plate packed with Southern flavors, you’re guaranteed an experience that feeds both body and soul. Just be sure to come early, as this beloved spot tends to fill up quickly, closing by 3 p.m. daily.

If you're looking for some good southern eats, this place is for you. No gimmicks, just good food. I love the fried pork chops! Crunchy on the outside like it should be, but tender on the inside. You can't lose with the fried chicken either. For my sides greens, fried corn and cabbage are my favorite. Go early, they can get crowded during lunchtime, and they close at 3pm. We always take some home for later.
Let me just say this is the best peach cobbler i've ever had! DIVINE! Greens and fried pork chops were so yummy and comforting I thought I was in my grandma's kitchen!! Definitely going back!!
I love this place. I love the food. Their fried chicken is the bomb.com. . The collard greens are amazing. It's fresh and hot and decent portions. I got the lunch special where you can get 1 breast or 2 dark. I got the breast. Oh, and I most definitely need my hot sauce so my apologies for the hot sauce covered chicken.
The best food I’ve had in years. The fried chicken is delicious, but the veggies were my favorite. From the cabbage to the collards (which I ended up ordering a pint to take with me) this place knows how to prepare authentic, flavorful food for the soul. And as a nice bonus they have cherry kool aid slushes!! Krystal was my server and she was very attentive and didn’t mind helping me pick her favorites from the menu. The entire meal including two plates, a large drink, pint of collards, half dozen extra cornbread AND a delicious piece of italian cream cake were around $50. I tipped well for the great service. Be sure to keep their hours in mind, as they close the dining room service at 2:30, but you can order to go until 3. Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you’re in the area I highly recommend.
My first time visiting The owner noticed me just sitting in car and told me she didn't know what time it was however I was welcome to come on in. They already had a table set up for the 10 of us.. Service was exceptional as well as great tasting food. I would recommend Drew's to anyone.
